2.671 Research Project: Does heat or moisture really help to break in shoes?

This was a research project exploring the validity of home remedies for "breaking in" leather. I subjected untreated, heat-treated, and water-treated leather to cyclic axial loading, and then analyzed and compared the stiffnesses of all categories of leather to one another. I presented my research findings and poster at the symposium at the end of the class 2.671 (Measurement and Instrumentation).
